Welcome to the Richland Heights East NA website!

Welcome to the web page for the Richland Heights East Neighborhood Association (RHENA).

The Richland Heights East Neighborhood (MAP) is a centrally located neighborhood in Tucson, Arizona. The neighborhood is bordered by Campbell Ave to the west, Tucson Blvd to the east, Prince Rd to the north, and Ft Lowell Rd to the south. Richland Heights East is home to more than 270 homes, almost 30 businesses, and over 800 residents. In 1994, the residents of RHE established a Neighborhood Association registered with the City of Tucson. Welcome!

Neighborhood ID Signs

Great news! The Neighborhood ID Sign Committee has completed their 3 1/2 year effort to have neighborhood ID signs for our neighborhood. Having these signs was recommended in our 2007 RHENA Long Term Plan. They are known to bring a sense of community pride and identity to residents and increase recognition of our neighborhood across the City as an activist neighborhood that works together and pays attention to what happens in our area.

The Sign Committee completed the following steps:
  1. Developed a design for the signs which the City approved.
  2. Estimated the cost and raised money to pay for the manufacture and installation of the signs.
  3. Got bids from 6 sign shops, and choose K&K Graphics to manufacture the signs.
  4. Sent the signs to the City for installation.

The signs have been installed at the 14 entrances into RHE.

Funds were raised through voluntary donations from residents of RHE. A total of $2,822.06 was raised, which was a bit more than ultimately needed. The extra money has gone into the general operating fund for RHENA, as outlined at the beginning of the project

Thank you to all the residents who donated money to the fund-raising effort, and thank you to the Neighborhood ID Sign Committee, made up of Deborah Dobson (Chair), Marlene Hughes, Sandy Miller, Tricia Lucz-Foster and Sheila Crowley. Also to the board members for all their support. Good Job!

Newsletter Sponsors

Until 2010, the City of Tucson (COT) funded up to one newsletters per month for registered neighborhood associations (NAs). Then the state of the economy forced the City to cut funding for each NA to one newsletter per fiscal year.

The RHENA Board believes that our newsletter is an important way to get information out to the residents of RHE and to connect with new residents. So we have approached businesses in and around the neighborhood to see if they would be willing to sponsor an issue of the newsletter, allowing us to publish 4 newsletters per year.

The following businesses have been gracious enough to sponsor issues of the RHENA newsletter. Some issues have also been funded by individuals living in the neighborhood. To thank these businesses for their help, please frequent them if you need their type of service.

If you own a business and would be willing to sponsor an issue of the newsletter, let us know. If you frequent a business in our area, please ask if they would like to sponsor an issue. Let them know that an issue costs approximately $200 to print and mail, and each issue reaches over 300 addresses. An issue could be co-sponsored to halve the cost.

Thank you!
